SJR Boerdery CC (owns Farm Kamiebees 368/1, located c.85 km south east of Springbok) is conducting a Water Use License Application (WULA) for additional groundwater abstraction for irrigation, livestock watering and domestic purposes. A WUL is required from the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) for an activity (water use) listed and triggered in terms of Section 21 (a) of the National Water Act 36 of 1998 (NWA) - taking water from a water resource.
SRK Consulting (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd (SRK) has been appointed as the independent environmental assessment practitioner, to facilitate the required public participation process.
