PROJECT SYNOPSIS

AECI Plant Health (formerly Plaaskem Pty. Ltd.) received a Record of Decision (RoD) from the Gauteng Department of Agriculture, Conservation, Environment and Land Affairs for the relocation of the Plaaskem Sugar Acid Manufacturing site from Jet Park to Lilianton in Boksburg. Contradictions between the RoD (GAUT: 0032/03-04/231) and Atmospheric Emissions License (AEL) (14/1/1/7/AECI PLANT HEALTH/KEMP) have been identified and AECI Plant Health have been advised to apply for a Part 2 amendment in terms of Section 31 of the National Environmental Management Act 107 of 1998 (NEMA) 2014 Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations (as amended).

STATUS OF PROJECT

An application has been made to the Gauteng Department of Agriculture, Conservation, Environment and Land Affairs to amend the ROD.
